About brand
Meridian began in 2020 as the second brand from Pangaea Holdings, the company behind men’s skincare label Lumin. Pangaea was started in 2018 by Richard Hong and Darwish Gani, launching Lumin as a men’s skincare brand with Korean-inspired formulations before expanding into Meridian, a below-the-belt grooming line, in 2020. The founders built a proprietary e-commerce platform to run both brands, which let them reach customers well beyond the U.S. from early on.
The idea behind Meridian came from a gap nobody was addressing directly: men were already paying attention to skincare and grooming, but the area below the belt was treated as an afterthought, handled with the same razor used everywhere else, or ignored completely. Meridian built trimmers and skincare specifically for that part of the routine, using ceramic blade guards, waterproof housings, and adjustable guide combs to solve the actual problems people run into there, razor burn, ingrown hairs, nicks, and discomfort in sensitive skin.
